America First Legal (AFL) has called for a federal investigation into the Upper Arlington School District's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies. The organization claims these policies violate federal anti-discrimination laws.
The AFL alleges that the school district in Ohio has intentionally breached Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and President Trump's Executive Order 14173. Title VI prohibits discrimination based on race, color, and national origin by entities receiving federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Education. Executive Order 14173 allows guidance to ensure compliance with Students for Fair Admission v. President and Fellows of Harvard College.
Jacob Meckler, America First Legal Counsel, stated: "When our nation’s schools discriminate based on race and sex, and embed divisive racial and sexual ideologies into their curriculum, it not only violates the law but it also warps our children’s education." He urged the Department of Education to investigate the district and consider terminating its federal funding if necessary.
AFL plans to continue opposing illegal DEI policies in educational institutions nationwide.
