Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced today that Dusti Turner, a 35-year-old woman from Arizona, has been charged with stabbing and attempted robbery in Providence County Superior Court. The incident occurred at a Providence bus terminal.

On April 19, 2024, the Office of the Attorney General charged Turner with one count of assault with intent to rob, one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. These charges are based on allegations that on December 15, 2023, Turner stabbed a man while attempting to rob him.

Officers responded to the incident at approximately 4:19 p.m., finding the victim suffering from a stab wound to his leg. They applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding before emergency responders transported him to Rhode Island Hospital.

Detectives obtained video surveillance from the bus terminal and a nearby 7-Eleven store. The footage allegedly shows Turner following the victim before pulling his coat from behind, punching and kicking him. The victim managed to escape and ran towards the bus terminal with Turner reportedly pursuing him before fleeing towards Kennedy Plaza.

On February 26, 2024, the victim identified Turner as his assailant during an interview with investigators. He did not know her name but referred to her as "Red". He also revealed they had previously lived together at a residence on Dexter Street.

In an unrelated case on February 22, 2024, Turner was charged with the murder of a woman found in the Woonasquatucket River. This case is still pending.

Turner is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference regarding the stabbing and attempted robbery charges on June 3, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

An indictment or charge is merely an allegation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
