Interviews for district magistrate judge vacancy in Woodson County announced

The 31st Judicial District Nominating Commission has announced its schedule to interview nominees for a district magistrate judge vacancy in Woodson County. The interviews will commence at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 17.

This vacancy was created due to the unfortunate demise of District Magistrate Thomas Mikulka on January 8. The 31st Judicial District encompasses Allen, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson counties.

According to the released schedule, Jeffrey McCullough from Yates Center, currently serving as sheriff in the Woodson County Sheriff's Office, will be interviewed at 9:30 a.m. Zelda Schlotterbeck, also from Yates Center and presently holding the position of Woodson County Attorney, is scheduled for an interview at 9:50 a.m.

These interviews are open to the public and will take place at the Woodson County Courthouse located at 105 W Rutledge in Yates Center.

The Nominating Commission of the 31st Judicial District comprises Justice Evelyn Wilson as the nonvoting chair; David Clark and Mark Lair from Chanute; Nancy Burns and John Chenoweth from Fredonia; Douglas Depew from Neodesha; Craig Mentzer from Neosho Falls; Shelia Lampe from Piqua; and Donald Greg Taylor from Stark.
