PIERRE, S.D.—The Brown County Drug & DUI Court team has extended an invitation to the public to join them in celebrating the commendable achievements of participants who have successfully completed the program. A graduation ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. CDT in the Brown County Community Room located in the basement of the Brown County Courthouse, 25 Market St., Aberdeen.
Friends, family members, team members and other program participants will be present to honor those who have successfully navigated through this intensive program and fulfilled all its phases. Each graduate will have an opportunity to share their experiences and acknowledge those who supported them throughout their journey.
The commencement ceremony is open to public attendance, media coverage and photography. Following the ceremony, there will be a chance for attendees to take pictures with and speak to the graduates. The treatment court team will also provide treats and refreshments.
The mission of Brown County Drug & DUI Court is to ensure public safety and reduce costs by offering a judicially-supervised program of intensive treatment and accountability for substance-dependent participants. The ultimate goal is to transform these individuals into contributing members of our community.
“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending,” said writer Carl Bard.
