Lawsuits

ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — The owner of a Florida Chick-Fil-A faces a lawsuit that says a chicken nugget was black on the inside and made a woman ill.

Shi'terra Sharp filed a complaint Oct 19 in Orange County Circuit Court against Holland Hospitality LLC doing business as Chick-Fil-A at Hunt Club FSR alleging negligence.

Sharp, according to her complaint, consumed chicken nuggets she purchased at the Chick-Fil-A on Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville on Jan. 8, 2020. She claims as she was eating the nuggets, she found the meat of the nuggets was black and that immediately after consuming the nuggets, she became "violently ill."

Sharp alleges that she sought treatment for abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and was diagnosed with gastrointestinal illnesses. She claims the defendant's negligence for failing to adequately inspect the food and for not properly supervising employees in the preparation of the food.

She further claims the defendant's food was not fit for human consumption.

Sharp seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Jonathan Rotstein of Rotstein, Shiffman and Broderick LLP in Daytona Beach.
