ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — An NBA fan alleges a Washington Wizards player physically assaulted him after a game in Orlando.

Kyler Briffa filed a complaint April 18 in Orange County Circuit Court against three-time all-star Bradley Beal, Monumental Sports & Entertainment and the Washington Bullets LP alleging battery and other claims.

According to his complaint, Briffa and his friend purchased courtside seats and on March 21 attended Magic-Wizards at the Amway Arena in Orlando. He alleges that at the end of the game, courtside seat holders were allowed to enter the team tunnel to interact with the ball players as they made their way to the visitor's locker room.

Briffa further claims that Beal struck him on the side of his head and knocked his hat off his head after Briffa's friend made a comment to Beal about losing a bet on the game. He also claims that after informing Beal he was not the one that made the comment, Beal continued to bully, threaten and intimidate him until a Wizards staff member stepped in and escorted Beal away.

He alleges the Wizards were negligent for failing to ensure their ball players adhere to the NBA Fan Code of Conduct and failed to have safety measures in place to keep fans from assault and battery.

Braiffa seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Edward Guerrette II and Mary Sherris of Sherris Legal PA in Orlando.
