Fox Rothschild congratulates Marcus C. Hewitt, who was elected chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Health Law Section for the 2022-2023 term.
The Section addresses health care related legal issues including provider regulation, Medicare, Medicaid private health insurance, malpractice, data privacy and security, and provides networking and educational opportunities.
Hewitt will collaborate with members of the Health Law Section Council, including Fox partner Susan McNear Fradenburg, to address issues facing health care providers and the people of North Carolina as it relates to federal and state-specific laws and regulations. The Section also sponsors a variety of CLE and networking programs and helps mold the Bar Association’s position on health care related legislative issues.
At Fox, Hewitt focuses his practice on administrative litigation, health care disputes and regulatory matters. He advises a wide range of health care providers and related entities such as dental support organizations external quality review organizations (EQRO) and health maintenance organizations on regulatory compliance, contracting and related issues before the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, professional licensing boards and North Carolina Department of Insurance.
Fradenburg is serving on the Section Council for a term ending in 2025. She has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in the health care industry with a focus on long-term care providers and hospitals.
