Jana C. Houghteling has joined the Denver office as an Associate of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC. Houghteling’s practice focuses on litigation, particularly in the areas of professional liability and energy litigation.
Houghteling works closely with clients in all phases of litigation. She drafts complex pleadings, motions for summary judgment, discovery requests, response letters, and other documents for clients involved in professional liability, energy, commercial, and real estate litigation. She performs legal research and prepares memoranda of law related to statute interpretation, federal rulemaking, and case law analysis. She also has experience in environmental matters, including responses to EPA requests for comments on behalf of clients and analysis of federal environmental statutes.
Houghteling earned her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where she was the staff editor for the Water Law Review. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado.
