Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP issued the following announcement on Apr. 22.

In joining Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr’s Minneapolis office, Timothy Walsh advises clients on commercial real estate transactions and financing, as well as corporate matters, based on his more than 35 years of experience in private practice and as in-house counsel at Fortune 500 and mid-market privately held companies. He joins the firm as a partner in the Real Estate Practice.

Mr. Walsh represents commercial developers and companies with commercial real estate needs in their purchases, sales, closings and financing of real estate. His experience includes advice on T.I.F. financing, government approvals, leasing, development agreements, construction and title matters. He also helps companies manage their real estate portfolios.

Mr. Walsh represents financial institutions in commercial real estate closings and workouts and foreclosures of commercial real estate loans. He also sells properties for lenders. On the buyer and owner side, he structures and closes loan transactions and lines of credits to support the purchase, sale and development of commercial real estate.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tim to Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr,” said Al Coleman, office managing partner for the firm’s Minneapolis office and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “Tim is not only a seasoned transactional lawyer, but his more than 15 years of experience working in-house means he approaches real estate deals with the sensibility of a business executive. That is a trait that will serve our corporate client base especially well.”

Beyond his commercial real estate practice, Mr. Walsh helps businesses navigate mergers, acquisitions and other complex transactions, including contracting matters. He also advises them on governance and structure and guides them through formation and expansion.

In providing outside counsel for companies, Mr. Walsh draws on his experience serving as general counsel and executive vice president and a member of the founding team that transformed Silestone© countertop maker Cosentino North America from a start-up to a national $300 million-plus business with operations in more than 25 states in six years. Tim also served in a transitional general counsel role for a large mid-market international manufacturing and distribution company and as in-house counsel for ITT Diversified Financial Corporation.

Mr. Walsh earned his J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law and his B.S.B.A. from Creighton University.
