POLSINELLI PC: Polsinelli Attorney Elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is pleased to announce Tony W. Torain, II, a shareholder in the firm’s Washington D.C. office, has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF). This prestigious recognition is reserved for a select group of lawyers who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession. Membership is limited to only one percent of licensed attorneys in the U.S. and a select number of international lawyers.

Office Managing Partner, said. ”His commitment and dedication to advancing the field of law, as well as the vibrant mission of the ABF Fellows, will quickly establish him as an integral member of this elite group of lawyers.”

Established in 1955, the Fellows organization is a global honorary society comprised of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars, who provide financial support to sustain the ABF’s scholarship to advance justice and the understanding of law. Fellows promote ABF research to the legal profession and other parties who will benefit from awareness of its content. To become a Fellow, attorneys are recommended by their peers and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation.

As a member of Polsinelli’s Labor and Employment practice, Torain serves corporations and business owners in connection with all types of employment and labor disputes. He regularly represents clients in arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings, strikes, union election campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, and strategic labor relations planning matters.

In addition, Torain advises employers on employee separations and terminations, employee discipline, wage payment issues, compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations relating to the workplace, union avoidance strategies, strikes, and how to effectively manage unionized workforces.

A 2008 graduate of Towson University, Torain received his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2001. He was named as one of the “40 Under 40” by The Whole Truth in 2019. Other accolades he has earned include being listed as a “40 Under 40” honoree by Black Business Review in 2017 and being named to “The National Black Lawyers Top 100.” He has also been cited as a “Rising Star” in Washington, D.C. by Super Lawyers from 2018 through 2020.
