HOLLAND & KNIGHT: Diane McDermott Appointed Executive Partner of Holland & Knight’s Boston Office

Partnership

Holland & Knight issued the following announcement on April 1.

Holland & Knight announced that Diane McDermott has been named the new executive partner of its Boston office. Ms. McDermott will oversee the day-to-day management of the office, while continuing her real estate practice. Holland & Knight's Boston office is one of the firm's largest, with more than 220 attorneys and staff.

Ms. McDermott succeeds Steven Wright, who recently left the firm to join the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston as senior vice president and general counsel. Mr. Wright had served as executive partner of the Boston office since 2008.

"Under Steve's leadership, we significantly expanded our presence in the Boston legal market. We thank him for his many years of service at the firm and wish him the best in his new role," said Steven Sonberg, Holland & Knight managing partner. "Since joining us in 2013, Diane has been an important contributor to the Boston office. She is a well-respected lawyer and recognized leader, and I know the office will benefit from her wealth of experience."

Ms. McDermott is co-chair of Holland & Knight's National Retail Development and Lending team and a member of the firm's Real Estate and Hospitality Industry Group leadership team. Her practice focuses on numerous aspects of real estate law, including permitting and development, commercial and retail leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, with a particular emphasis on multifamily housing and the hotel and hospitality industry. She also is the coordinator of the firm's Women's Initiative in the Boston office.

"I am honored to succeed Steve Wright as executive partner of the Boston office," said Ms. McDermott. "I look forward to working with my colleagues to build upon the great success we have enjoyed during his tenure, and to continue to provide the very best service to our clients and our community."
