Founders and entrepreneurs of blooming businesses are encouraged to get educated on all things intellectual property in one of Financial Poise’s latest webinars, IP-101: What Every Founder/Entrepreneur Must Know. The on-demand webinar, which is sponsored by EisnerAmper, is slated to give special advice for those who have launched their own startup businesses.

Where does intellectual property come into play? Ultimately, it’s a major asset that the webinar says business owners should be very knowledgeable about. From knowing the value of their own intellectual property to making sure they don’t go overboard with using one that is already in business with another entrepreneur, this webinar will help businessmen and women stay the course concerning intellectual property. They will learn the basics and foundation of the meaning of hot topic terms like copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret, which, if used incorrectly, can be the basis of serving on the wrong side of a lawsuit.

The webinar will also instruct participants on intellectual property laws that are applicable in the United States.

Partnered with ChamberWise and West LegalEdCenter, the IP-101 webinar is targeted specifically toward attorneys and advisers as well as business owners, executives and investors.

The panel consists of April Besl, who is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department at Dinsmore. She practices trademarks, licensing and enforcement as well as entertainment law.

Steve Elleman is also on the panel. He is a partner in Thompson Hine’s Intellectual Property practice group. He’s also a registered patent attorney with lots of experience with litigation in copyright registration, right-to-use studies and patent and trademark confirmations.

Full-service life science intellectual property lawyer Steve Lendaris also serves on the panel alongside Todd Zoha, who is known for getting results utilizing his business executive skills. Zoha also is skilled in creating strategic developmental plans for troubled companies.

The course is available for purchase here.
