Holland & Knight issued the following announcement on Oct. 25.

Jake Evans, a rising star in Georgia's government and legal communities, has joined Holland & Knight's Atlanta office as an associate and member of the firm's Georgia Government Advocacy Team. He was formerly an associate with Thompson Hine.

"We are fortunate that Jake has decided to continue to grow his successful practice here at Holland & Knight," said Robert Highsmith, head of the firm's Georgia Government Advocacy Team. "He is an immensely talented lawyer who has earned widespread respect and admiration for his ability to solve the thorny governmental problems that businesses increasingly face. Our clients will benefit greatly from his public policy litigation and advocacy services."

Mr. Evans represents individuals and corporate entities—from successful small companies to Fortune 100 corporations—in high-stakes, complex litigation. He has significant experience representing municipalities, state agencies, and community boards in federal and state courts. He also represents individuals and corporate entities (both nonprofit and for-profit) before government administrative agencies and licensing boards, and assists in responding to state Attorney General and United States attorney investigations.

Mr. Evans is recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers and is a member of the Daily Report's On the Rise class of 2018. James Magazine recently recognized him as one of Georgia's Most Influential Politically-Connected Attorneys. Mr. Evans is also an honoree in the 2018 Atlanta Business Chronicle's 40 Under 40 Class, is an honoree in Outstanding Atlanta's 2018 Class, and is a graduate of the 2018 LEAD Atlanta Class.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal appointed Mr. Evans to the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission (formerly the State Ethics Commission), a quasi-judicial body with statewide jurisdiction over ethics issues involving public officials, lobbyists and state vendors.

Mr. Evans is the current president of the Atlanta Young Republicans, the largest Young Republicans organization in the country. He also serves on the Young Leaders Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.

Mr. Evans earned J.D. and B.A. degrees from the University of Georgia.
