Greenberg Traurig, LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 26.

Lori G. Cohen, Co-Chair of the Global Litigation Practice at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was named “2018 Product Liability Attorney of the Year” by LMG Life Sciences, the definitive guide to leading North American law firms and lawyers specialized in the life sciences industry. She was also inducted into the guide’s Life Sciences Hall of Fame.

The guide’s LMG Life Sciences Awards recognize key law firms, lawyers, and the innovative work being accomplished throughout the life sciences industry.

Cohen and the other award recipients were honored at a dinner on Sept. 12 at the Essex House in New York City. According to the guide, “Among the highlights of the night was the induction of [five] exceptional life sciences attorneys into the Hall of Fame for their remarkable careers dedicated to clients in the industry.” In addition to Cohen, also honored were Ron Dimock, Anthony Figg, Judith Hasko, and Catherine Polizzi.

LMG Life Sciences rankings and awards are based on marketplace and client feedback, as well as information provided by firms, which can only be ranked if the market deems them worthy of consideration.

LMG Life Sciences notes: “The intricacies of life science products require a diverse array of legal expertise across many disciplines. From regulatory approval or patent filing to collaborative transactions or product liabilities, legal practitioners play an important role in guiding a product through its life cycle. Furthermore, products born from biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and agritech companies demand a sophisticated scientific understanding. Mindful of these difficulties, LMG Life Sciences aims to present attorneys and firms in a way that speaks to the intricacies of both the legal market and the life sciences industry.”

In addition to her global litigation position, Cohen serves as Chair of the firm's Trial Practice Group, as well as Chair of the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice.
