A Texarkana resident has been convicted of federal drug trafficking charges in the Eastern District of Texas. Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr. announced the conviction.
Deablo Deshon Lewis, 34, was found guilty by a jury for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana. He was also convicted of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The trial took place over three days before U.S. District Judge Robert W. Schroeder III and concluded on May 15, 2025.
Court records reveal that Lewis was arrested on April 1, 2021, in Texarkana, Arkansas after agreeing to sell 150 counterfeit oxycontin “M-30” pills. Following his arrest, Lewis admitted to having marijuana at his home in Texarkana, Texas. A search warrant led officers to discover over 2,800 counterfeit “M-30” pills containing fentanyl, more than 700 “ecstasy” pills containing methamphetamine, over 180 counterfeit Xanax pills with clonazolam, bulk marijuana, THC edibles, synthetic marijuana products, and two loaded firearms.
In February 2022, after being released on bond, officers stopped a vehicle leaving a suspected drug transaction involving Lewis. The occupant confirmed purchasing counterfeit “M-30” pills from him. Another search warrant uncovered additional fake “M-30” pills containing fentanyl and hundreds more “ecstasy” pills with methamphetamine.
Lewis could face up to 40 years in federal prison at sentencing. The statutory maximum sentence is provided for informational purposes as the court will determine sentencing based on advisory guidelines and other factors following a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office.
The case was investigated by several law enforcement agencies including the Texarkana (Texas) Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration among others. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan Locker, Lauren Richards, and Jonathan Hornok prosecuted the case.
