A Centre County jury has convicted Larry Brickhouse, 51, of State College, for his involvement in a drug trafficking organization based in State College. The verdict was announced by Attorney General Dave Sunday after a three-day trial.
Brickhouse was found guilty of felony possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy/possession with intent to distribute, and criminal use of a communication facility. He is currently held at Centre County Prison and will be sentenced on July 11.
The charges against Brickhouse were based on findings from the 48th Statewide Investigating Grand Jury. Attorney General Sunday commented on the case, stating, "This defendant played a major role in distributing deadly drugs throughout Centre County." He further expressed gratitude for the jury's decision and the efforts of prosecutors and investigators: "Thanks to the jury’s thoughtful verdict and the relentless work of prosecutors and investigators, this trafficker’s time pushing poisons into our neighborhoods has ended."
Evidence presented by the Office of Attorney General included controlled buys, search warrants, and recorded conversations. This evidence demonstrated that Brickhouse aided distribution network leader Larry David in trafficking methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl from New Jersey to communities in State College.
In total, 12 individuals were charged in connection with this drug trafficking organization. Among them were Brickhouse and David; however, David is now deceased.
Deputy Attorney General David C. Gorman from the Drug Strike Force Section prosecuted the case.
