Attorney General Lynn Fitch marked National Police Week by hosting the 15th Annual Fallen Officers Memorial Candlelight Vigil with the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police and the Mississippi Sheriff's Association.
As part of the vigil, names of fallen officerswere read aloud and their families and loved ones were recognized for thesacrifices they have made."It is a privilege to honor Mississippi's brave men and women in uniform and torecognize their commitment to our great State. Today we celebrate theseheroes," said Attorney General Lynn Fitch. "This vigil is a reminder of thelives of the fallen; the men and women who spent their days in service to theirfriends, neighbors, and even strangers, always with a sense of purpose, duty,and honor."This year, three fallen officers were added to the Fallen Officers Memorial Wall,located off of High Street in Jackson, to pay tribute to their service to our State.

They give us amoment to remember and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrificeand service to others,” saidMississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell. “When someone, like Mike Griffin, who wasnot only a dedicated law enforcement officer, but also one of your most loyalfriends is now among the fallen, it hits deeper. We carry their memory forwardwith pride and we will never forget the impact or sacrifices they made.”
