Sean Paul Duer, a 58-year-old resident of Durant, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to federal drug charges. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma reported that Duer admitted to possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it. This offense could lead to a prison sentence of up to twenty years.
The charge against Duer is based on an incident from May 12, 2024, where he was found in possession of methamphetamine, classified as a Schedule II controlled substance. The investigation leading to this charge involved collaboration between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Durant Police Department.
U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted Duer's guilty plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered by the court.
The final sentence will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after evaluating factors such as the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. Until then, Duer remains in custody under the supervision of the United States Marshals Service.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Richard J. Lorenz and Michael E. Robinson.
