Tulsa man pleads guilty to theft in Indian Country

Tommy Allen Winkler, a 37-year-old resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to theft in Indian Country. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma reported that Winkler admitted to taking money and personal property valued over $1,000 from three victims. The incidents occurred between November 16, 2022, and June 14, 2024.

The thefts took place in Muskogee County on the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the charges.

U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted Winkler's guilty plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report was ordered following the plea.

Winkler is currently released on bond while awaiting sentencing. The sentence will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua Satter represented the prosecution in this case.
