A German national, Georg Ingenbleek, has been extradited from Italy to the United States to face charges related to a large-scale mail fraud scheme. The scheme allegedly targeted elderly and vulnerable individuals with fraudulent psychic solicitations, resulting in over $10 million in losses. Ingenbleek was indicted in 2020 and had been a fugitive until his arrest in Bolzano, Italy, in 2024. He arrived at Newark International Airport and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Leda Dunn Wettre on May 9, 2025. Ingenbleek pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.

The indictment alleges that between 2011 and 2016, Ingenbleek orchestrated a campaign of direct mail solicitations claiming to be from renowned psychics. These letters falsely promised free psychic services and predicted recipients would receive large sums of money. The solicitations were produced by Company-1, based in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Ingenbleek also allegedly directed Company-2 to send fraudulent billing notices to victims, demanding payment for the purportedly free services. These notices threatened legal action if payments were not made.

In response to federal investigations into the scheme in September 2016, Ingenbleek reportedly instructed associates at both companies to destroy all related materials.

Each count of mail fraud carries a potential penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine or twice the gross gain or loss from the offense.

U.S. Attorney Alina Habba credited multiple agencies for their roles in investigating the case and facilitating Ingenbleek's extradition from Italy. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan Fayer and Olta Bejleri.

Ingenbleek is represented by defense counsel Daniel Rashbaum from Miami, Florida.

The charges against Ingenbleek are accusations at this stage; he remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
