A federal grand jury in New Haven has indicted Ameer Nasir, 24, of Trumbull, on charges related to a fraud scheme involving Amazon.com, Inc. The announcement was made by Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Anish Shukla, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the FBI.

Nasir faces a 13-count indictment returned on May 7, 2025. He was arrested and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge S. Dave Vatti in Bridgeport before being released on a $300,000 bond.

The indictment alleges that Nasir registered 23 trucking businesses with Amazon Logistics between December 2019 and February 2021. One account was under his business name Pak Express Transport, LLC, while others were allegedly created using the names and information of other companies without their knowledge. Nasir is accused of manipulating Amazon's transportation management system to falsely claim completion of trailer movements and submitting fraudulent invoices to Amazon Logistics.

Through these actions, Nasir reportedly defrauded Amazon out of more than $3 million. Each count of wire fraud carries a potential maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment.

Acting U.S. Attorney Silverman emphasized that an indictment does not equate to guilt and that charges are merely allegations until proven beyond reasonable doubt.

The FBI is investigating this matter with help from Amazon. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elena L. Coronado is prosecuting the case.
