Jesus Alejandro Bojorquez-Moreno, a 37-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by United States District Court Judge Angela M. Martinez. The sentencing took place on May 6, 2025. Bojorquez-Moreno had earlier pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin and fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and illegal reentry after deportation.
The case involved activities between June and September of 2022 when Bojorquez-Moreno arranged five separate transactions involving large quantities of heroin and fentanyl with undercover federal agents. He was responsible for negotiating the amounts and prices and directing other members of the conspiracy to deliver the drugs in Tucson, Arizona, and Indianapolis, Indiana. Federal agents intercepted a total of 10 kilograms of heroin and 100,000 fentanyl pills during these operations.
Bojorquez-Moreno was apprehended on June 3, 2023, by United States Border Patrol agents near Douglas, Arizona. He was charged with illegally reentering the United States after having been deported in 2019 without receiving legal authorization to return.
This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at identifying and dismantling high-level criminal organizations that pose threats to the United States through a coordinated multi-agency approach.
