The Department of Justice has announced the results of Operation Restore Justice, a nationwide effort aimed at identifying and arresting child sex predators. This operation led to the rescue of 115 children and the arrest of 205 offenders across the United States. The initiative was conducted over five days with participation from all 55 FBI field offices, the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section in the Department’s Criminal Division, and various U.S. Attorney’s Offices.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated, "The Department of Justice will never stop fighting to protect victims — especially child victims — and we will not rest until we hunt down, arrest, and prosecute every child predator who preys on the most vulnerable among us." She expressed gratitude towards the FBI and its partners for their work in this operation.
FBI Director Kash Patel commented on the operation's impact: “Every child deserves to grow up free from fear and exploitation, and the FBI will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of those who exploit the most vulnerable among us.” He emphasized that no predator is beyond reach.
Abe McGlothin Jr., Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas, reiterated their commitment: “Children are the world’s most valuable resource... here in the Eastern District of Texas, we will do all we can to ensure that they are protected.” He praised law enforcement partners for their efforts during Operation Restore Justice.
R. Joseph Rothrock, FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge, highlighted partnerships' role: “Protecting children is a top priority of the FBI... Every arrest made in these cases delivers justice.”
In one notable case within Texas, Yehudra-Ari Nathan Esquenazi was arrested following an investigation by North Carolina's FBI office. Esquenazi is accused of engaging in online activities related to child exploitation.
Across other states, arrests included charges such as production and distribution of child sexual abuse material. In Minneapolis, a state trooper faced allegations related to producing such material while wearing uniforms; in Norfolk, VA an illegal alien was charged with transporting a minor across state lines; while a former police officer was arrested for alleged trafficking in Washington D.C.
Community involvement played a significant role in many cases leading up to these arrests. An example cited involved a California man apprehended shortly after his victim reported abuse during an online safety presentation near Albany.
