Attorney General Ken Paxton has announced the indictment and arrest of six individuals, including public officials, in connection with a vote harvesting scheme in Frio County. The announcement highlights ongoing efforts to address election crimes and maintain the integrity of elections in Texas.

"The people of Texas deserve fair and honest elections, not backroom deals and political insiders rigging the system. Elected officials who think they can cheat to stay in power will be held accountable. No one is above the law," stated Attorney General Paxton. He further emphasized his office's collaboration with Frio County District Attorney Audrey Louis to uphold electoral integrity.

The investigation began in August 2024 when Attorney General Paxton’s Criminal Investigation Division executed search warrants across Frio, Atascosa, and Bexar Counties following credible allegations of vote harvesting. On May 1, 2025, a grand jury in Frio County was presented with a criminal case by District Attorney Audrey Louis and the Election Integrity Unit from the Office of the Attorney General. The grand jury returned indictments for several individuals:

- Rochelle Camacho, Frio County Judge: 3 counts of Vote Harvesting

- Carlos Segura, Former Frio County Elections Administrator: 1 count of Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence

- Ramiro Trevino, Pearsall City Council: 1 count of Vote Harvesting

- Racheal Garza, Pearsall City Council: 1 count of Vote Harvesting

- Adriann Ramirez, Pearsall ISD Trustee: 3 counts of Vote Harvesting

- Rosa Rodriguez, Alleged Frio County Vote Harvester: 2 counts of Vote Harvesting

Arrests were made on May 2, 2025; however, Rochelle Camacho will be processed at a later date. The investigation by Attorney General Paxton’s Election Integrity Unit continues alongside efforts from the Frio County DA.
