Attorney General Dave Sunday has announced charges against Korrtezz Martin, a resident of Beaver County, along with 13 others. They are accused of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine in Western Pennsylvania. This development follows the recommendation from the 51st Statewide Investigating Grand Jury.
Martin, aged 34, and his alleged co-conspirators were reportedly involved in distributing pressed fentanyl pills and cocaine across Beaver, Allegheny, and Washington counties between April 2023 and August 2024. Ten out of the fourteen individuals have been taken into custody as of Tuesday.
The charges against Martin include possession with intent to distribute, criminal conspiracy, corrupt organizations, dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activity, illegal firearms possession, and criminal use of a communication facility. He was arrested on Tuesday with bail set at $500,000.
“Our Bureau of Narcotics Investigation worked diligently to identify the leader of this criminal enterprise and his conspirators,” stated Attorney General Sunday. “Drug traffickers push poisons into our communities without a care for the lives put at risk. My office will continue to vigorously prosecute traffickers who value dollars over human lives.”
The grand jury investigation revealed that Martin led the distribution network using "runners." Officials concluded that he and his accomplices were upper-level dealers in the region.
The arrests were made with assistance from Pennsylvania State Police, the Drug Enforcement Agency’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program, the Beaver County District Attorney’s Office, and Beaver County Drug Task Force.
Senior Deputy Attorney General Kara Cotter from the Drug Strike Force Section is prosecuting this case. It is important to note that all charges are allegations at this stage; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
