A Shaktoolik resident, Matthew Jackson, 23, has entered a guilty plea to charges of cyberstalking and sexually exploiting a child for the production of child pornography. This development was announced in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Court documents reveal that from December 2021 to July 2023, Jackson used his phone to communicate with three 15-year-old victims. He solicited them to create and send images and videos depicting sexually explicit conduct. The minors complied with his requests.

During the same period, Jackson also targeted an adult victim, requesting nude images. After receiving these images, he began harassing and threatening the adult through messaging platforms. Jackson claimed he could profit by selling the images and threatened to do so unless the adult engaged in sexual intercourse with him.

Jackson's sentencing is set for August 22, 2025. He faces a potential sentence ranging from 15 years to life imprisonment. A federal district court judge will determine his sentence based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael J. Heyman for the District of Alaska and Special Agent in Charge Rebecca Day of the FBI Anchorage Field Office.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI Anchorage Field Office with support from the Alaska State Troopers. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carly Vosacek handled the prosecution of this case.
