Linda McMahon, the Congressional candidate for New Jersey's District 3, said in a post on X that residents of New Jersey are burdened by rising costs through high car and home insurance.

"New Jersey citizens cannot weather the price of their electric bills," said McMahon. "New Jersey citizens are not worried about tariffs on China but worried about living in the most over taxed state!"

According to Insure, car insurance premiums in New Jersey remain among the highest in the United States, with average annual costs reaching $1,902 in 2025, slightly above the national average of $1,895. This elevated rate reflects a persistent financial burden on drivers in the state, influenced by factors such as population density, traffic congestion, and accident frequency. Despite these high averages, some insurers like Palisades offer more affordable options, with annual premiums as low as $1,073.

Bloomberg reports that insurance companies attribute rising premiums to increased litigation costs. They cite a surge in lawsuits and larger settlements as significant factors. These legal expenses, coupled with inflation and higher repair costs, have led insurers to pass on the financial burden to policyholders. Consequently, consumers are experiencing higher insurance rates.

Roebling native and nurse practitioner McMahon has served for over 25 years in healthcare and public health advocacy. She is a strong supporter of medical freedom, parental rights, and New Jersey’s hunting and farming heritage. McMahon is also a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association) and United Bow Hunters of New Jersey.
