Kane County judicial nominating commission announces nominees for justice court vacancy

The Kane County Judicial Nominating Commission has announced the names of three candidates vying for a judge position in the Justice Court serving Kane County, Utah. The position will become available with the upcoming retirement of Judge Gary Johnson in June.

The candidates are Barry E. Clarkson, J.D., an attorney residing in Santa Clara; William “Bill” Frazier, J.D., an attorney residing in St. George; and J. Shea Owens, J.D., an attorney residing in Panguitch.

The public can provide comments on the nominees until May 12, 2025. After the comment period, the county commission will review the submitted application materials, with a final decision expected within 30 days. Comments on the candidates can be sent via email to James Peters, Justice Court Administrator, at jamesp@utcourts.gov.
