Jay Clayton, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Christopher G. Raia, the Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Field Office of the FBI, have announced the unsealing of a complaint against Carsen Mansfield. Mansfield has been charged with extortionate interstate communications. His arrest occurred on April 29 in Newburgh, New York, and he was presented before U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith C. McCarthy in White Plains federal court.

U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton stated, “As alleged, Carsen Mansfield used Discord to track down and exploit the minor female victim. Protecting our children is central to our mission, and we will prosecute those who victimize them to the fullest extent of the law.”

Christopher G. Raia, FBI Assistant Director in Charge, commented on the case: “Carsen Mansfield allegedly extorted and threatened a minor in another state to provide sexually explicit images. Mansfield’s alleged actions violated a vulnerable victim’s privacy to satiate his personal disturbing desires. The FBI remains committed to protecting any minor from those who wish to inflict sexual harm, regardless of where they are located.”

According to the complaint, Mansfield contacted a minor female victim identified as Victim-1 via the communication platform Discord on or about August 4, 2024. Mansfield allegedly sent the victim a series of previously taken nude photographs of her and threatened to disseminate those images to the victim's acquaintances unless she provided him with additional explicit materials. He reportedly asserted, “Well I have these pictures and if you don’t send me more I’m going to send them to your friends and family . . . Your [sic] my slut now Andy [sic] failure to make me happy will end up exposed to your friends and family.”

Authorities are seeking anyone with information concerning Carsen Mansfield or those who may have encountered someone using the Discord username “noname45.#0” or the X (formerly Twitter) username “expogirlsss” to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit https://tips.fbi.gov.

Mansfield, 23, from Newburgh, New York, is charged with one count of extortionate interstate communications, carrying a statutory maximum possible sentence of two years in prison. However, actual sentencing will be at the judge's discretion.

Jay Clayton commended the FBI’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, the Detroit Field Office, and the Town of Newburgh Police Department for their investigative efforts. The case is managed by the Office’s White Plains Division, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Margaret N. Vasu leading the prosecution.

It is important to note that the charges in the complaint are accusations, and Mansfield is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
