A man from Altoona, Pennsylvania, received a sentence of six-and-a-half years in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release, for transporting and possessing materials that depicted the sexual exploitation of a minor. The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines on April 29, 2025.
The convicted individual, Kevin Myers, aged 48, was found guilty of offenses committed from around December 2020 to December 2021. The case details, as presented to the court, indicated that Myers had transported and possessed images depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor using materials involved in interstate or foreign commerce.
The prosecution of the case was managed by Assistant United States Attorney Arnold P. Bernard Jr. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti acknowledged Homeland Security Investigations for their role in the investigation that led to Myers' prosecution.
The case was pursued under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started in May 2006 by the Department of Justice targeting child sexual exploitation and abuse.
