Alan Xavier Cabrera, a 27-year-old from Mexico, was apprehended on April 25, 2025, and is facing charges for possession of child pornography. The incident occurred at the San Luis, Arizona port of entry when Cabrera attempted to enter the United States with a B1/B2 travel visa. Authorities carried out an examination of Cabrera's cell phone, following observations of his behavior, and discovered numerous images of child pornography. The materials found reportedly include images and videos of minors, some under the age of ten, engaging in sexual acts with adult males.

If convicted of possessing child pornography, Cabrera could face a prison sentence of up to 20 years, a fine of $250,000, or both. Additionally, he may receive a life term of supervised release. It is important to note that a criminal complaint is merely a charge, and it does not infer guilt. Cabrera remains presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by evidence presented to a jury.

The investigation is being led by Homeland Security Investigations, while the prosecution is under the jurisdiction of the United States Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, in Phoenix.
