A Mexican national has been sentenced in a federal court to 60 days imprisonment for the illegal reentry of a removed alien. Acting United States Attorney, Troy Rivetti, announced that Juan Antonio Lopez-Mauricio, aged 34, received the sentence from United States District Judge W. Scott Hardy on April 28, 2025.
The court learned that immigration officials encountered Lopez-Mauricio on January 30, 2025, and determined his illegal presence in the United States. Lopez-Mauricio had been removed from the U.S. four times between 2012 and 2015 after convictions in Texas and Arizona federal courts for illegal entry. He has been in custody since his January arrest and will remain detained until his deportation.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski prosecuted the case, with Acting United States Attorney Rivetti crediting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations for their investigation efforts.
The case was conducted by the Pennsylvania Homeland Security Task Force under Operation Take Back America. This initiative is part of a broader operation created through Executive Order 14159 by former President Trump, aiming to eliminate criminal organizations, tackle illegal immigration, and enhance community safety.
