Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced the sentencing of Travis Enclade, a 43-year-old resident of New Orleans, for drug and gun-related offenses. On April 15, 2025, Enclade received a 288-month prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple charges related to the distribution and possession of controlled substances, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin, as well as being a felon in possession of firearms. Post-release, Enclade will be under supervised release for five years.
According to court documents and trial evidence, Enclade and a co-defendant conspired from August to October 12, 2022, to distribute illegal drugs in New Orleans. They allegedly conducted numerous hand-to-hand drug transactions in the Hollygrove area nearly every day during this period.
In September 2022, law enforcement identified a location in the 3500 block of Encampment Street as a stash house used by Enclade and his co-defendant. Both regularly visited the stash house, entering quickly, presumably to access drugs. A search warrant executed on October 12, 2022, led to the seizure of over 534 grams of heroin and fentanyl, over 120 grams of fentanyl separately, and 363 grams of methamphetamine, among other drug-related paraphernalia. Firearms seized included a Diamondback, Model DB9, and a Palmetto State Armory, Model PA-X9.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation aimed at dismantling top-tier drug trafficking organizations and criminal networks. It also falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program designed to reduce violent crime and gun violence through collaborative law enforcement efforts. The Department of Justice's strategy focuses on community trust, support for violence prevention organizations, and strategic enforcement.
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, local police departments, and several parish sheriff’s offices. Assistant United States Attorneys Rachal Cassagne and André Jones led the prosecution.
