RIVERSIDE, California – A man from San Bernardino County, who previously worked as a school bus driver, entered a guilty plea to federal charges for possessing thousands of images classified as child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Donal James Seaver, aged 51 and residing in Hesperia, admitted guilt to one count of possession of child pornography. Seaver has been held in federal custody since March 2024.

Documents from Seaver’s plea agreement reveal that in March 2024, law enforcement conducted a search at his home, where they confiscated four digital devices. Three of these devices held CSAM, and a Samsung tablet contained thousands of images depicting CSAM.

In his plea, Seaver acknowledged being aware that the files included videos and images of minors involved in sexually explicit activities. He confessed to intentionally downloading CSAM from the internet, particularly material showing children under age 12.

United States District Judge Jesus G. Bernal has set the sentencing for August 25, where Seaver could receive up to 20 years in federal prison.

The case has been investigated by the FBI and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Assistant United States Attorney Sonah Lee from the Riverside Branch Office is handling the prosecution.
