A 31-year-old resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Nathan Quinn Harrington, also known as Blaze McClanahan, has been sentenced to 32 months in federal prison. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced the sentence for Harrington, who faced charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The charge stemmed from an inquiry led by the Tahlequah Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Harrington pleaded guilty on May 1, 2024, after law enforcement officers found him with a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol and five rounds of .22 caliber ammunition during a routine traffic stop on January 23, 2024. He was in possession of these items despite a previous conviction that led to a sentence of more than one year in prison.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence by coordinating efforts across different levels of law enforcement and community organizations. The project enhances safety through principles that emphasize community trust, support for violence prevention programs, strategic enforcement, and thorough result measurement.

Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the case in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Harrington will remain in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service until he is transferred to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence, which does not allow for parole.

The United States was represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly.
