Dylan Thomas Walker, a resident of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 29 years in prison for second-degree murder and the use of a firearm during a crime. The announcement came from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Walker, aged 29, was sentenced to 235 months for second-degree murder in Indian Country and 120 months for firearm-related charges, to be served consecutively, totaling 355 months.
The case resulted from investigations conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Walker pleaded guilty to the charges on October 31, 2023. According to investigators, on December 3, 2022, he drove to a residence in Broken Bow, armed with a gun and attempted entry, shooting an occupant of the residence who later died from the injuries.
These events occurred in McCurtain County, within the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation Reservation, and the Eastern District of Oklahoma. The sentencing hearing was presided over by U.S. District Judge John F. Heil, III. Walker will remain in U.S. Marshals Service custody until transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility, where he will serve a non-paroleable sentence.
