Frailyn Argueta-Jeronimo, a 25-year-old native of Guatemala, has been indicted for the re-entry of a removed alien. The indictment, announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson on April 11, 2025, follows Argueta-Jeronimo's apprehension in the United States on March 27, 2025. He had re-entered the country without authorization, having been previously deported on February 6, 2020, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).

The charges against Argueta-Jeronimo could result in up to two years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, one year of supervised release, and a special assessment fee of $100. "An indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt," Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson stated.

This case is linked to Operation Take Back America, a national initiative of the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration and organized crime. The initiative combines efforts from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood to address violent crime.

The United States Border Patrol is credited with investigating the case. Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr. from the General Crimes Unit is leading the prosecution.
