The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that Fraidi Perez-Bartolon, a 34-year-old resident of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was indicted by a federal grand jury for illegally reentering the United States after a previous removal. Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Perez-Bartolon was removed from the country on June 2, 2012, through Calexico, California. He was reportedly found in the United States again without prior legal permission, with the encounter occurring on April 14, 2025, in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The investigation of this case was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations, and it is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Consiglio. This case falls under Operation Take Back America, an initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and related criminal activities. This operation coordinates resources from the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood.
If found guilty, the offense carries a potential maximum penalty of two years imprisonment, a supervised release term, and a fine. Sentencing will consider federal statutes and guidelines. It is important to note that indictments are allegations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
