A Meridian man and woman have pleaded guilty in a conspiracy case involving the distribution and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, according to court documents and statements made in court.

The case, which has been under investigation since October 2022, involved Keamber McCoy, 27, and Afrika Roshawn Seals, 42. During the investigation period ending in August 2023, five controlled purchases of cocaine were made. Seals arranged and negotiated three of these purchases, with McCoy delivering the cocaine. In the remaining two purchases, Seals both arranged and delivered the cocaine.

In September 2023, agents conducted a search of Seals’ residence, resulting in the seizure of three kilograms of cocaine and $84,411 in cash.

McCoy entered a guilty plea on April 7, 2025, and is set to be sentenced on July 17, where she faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Seals pleaded guilty on April 14 and will also be sentenced on July 17, facing a penalty range from five to 40 years in prison.

Sentences will be determined by a federal district court judge, taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.

The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi, Director Steven Maxwell of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Drug Enforcement Administration are handling the investigation, with prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bert Carraway, Adam Stuart, and Amber Jones.
