Attorney General Dave Sunday has announced new charges against 32-year-old Craig Coleman from Philadelphia. Coleman, a repeat sex offender, is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl while out on bail for previous child sexual abuse material charges.
Coleman was arrested and charged with multiple offenses including human trafficking, unlawful contact with a minor, statutory sexual assault, and manufacturing child pornography. The Attorney General's Office previously charged him in 2023 with child sexual abuse material, and he has a 2017 conviction for manufacturing child pornography and statutory sexual assault.
In February, Coleman reportedly contacted the victim online and, after learning her age, engaged in repeated sexual abuse. He allegedly paid the girl and recorded some of the acts. He is also accused of attempting to prevent her from cooperating with law enforcement.
Attorney General Sunday stated, “Based on his previous and present abhorrent conduct, there is no question that this individual is a danger to children.” He praised the investigators who worked on the case, acknowledging their prompt and professional efforts.
Coleman's bail is set at $10 million. Further charges include involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors, and intimidation of witnesses or victims.
After posting bail in November 2024 for the 2023 charges, Coleman pleaded guilty in January 2025. It was between these events that he contacted the victim, which led to the current charges. The investigation continues.
Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella of the Child Predator Section is prosecuting the case. It is emphasized that all criminal charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
