Richard G. Frohling, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced that Roberto De La Rosa of Neenah, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison. Senior District Judge William C. Griesbach handed down the sentence on April 14, 2025.
Court records indicate that in October 2024, law enforcement received a cyber tip indicating that De La Rosa possessed and distributed digital images and videos of child sexual abuse material. The investigation showed that De La Rosa repeatedly accessed and distributed this material.
During the sentencing, Judge Griesbach emphasized the serious nature of the crime, the need to protect the public, and the necessity of just punishment. Upon his release, De La Rosa will undergo seven years of supervised release and must register as a sexual offender.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office conducted the investigation, with prosecution by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble. This case is part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative, aiming to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide since its launch in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice.
