A Kalispell resident received a sentence of 128 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for his role in a drug distribution scheme on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. This was announced by U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme.

Cameron Lee Richard Carr, aged 34, admitted in September 2024 to charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. The sentencing was overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Brian Morris.

Court documents revealed that law enforcement officials were tipped off in early November 2023 about Carr's activities selling illegal drugs from Kalispell to Browning, Montana. On November 28, 2023, Carr was spotted at the Going to the Sun Inn in Browning. When a traffic stop was attempted by an officer after observing Carr commit a traffic violation, Carr fled by vehicle and then on foot. Upon his arrest, a search uncovered suspected meth and fentanyl. A 9 mm Ruger handgun was also found nearby.

A further search of Carr's vehicle led to the discovery of 11 firearms along with substantial quantities of drugs, including 500 grams of methamphetamine, 168 grams of fentanyl, and smaller amounts of heroin, oxycodone, morphine, and cocaine. During an interview on December 1, 2023, Carr confessed to distributing these drugs in Browning.

The prosecution was led by the U.S. Attorney's Office, with an investigation carried out by the FBI, DEA, Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, and the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office. The case was part of the initiatives of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), aimed at dismantling major criminal networks in the U.S. This multi-agency effort combines prosecutorial expertise with intelligence strategies.
