An Adel resident, Charles Adam Bradshaw, has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. The sentence was imposed on March 6, 2025, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Court documents and sentencing evidence reveal that Bradshaw, aged 41, traveled from Adel to Omaha, Nebraska, to collect methamphetamine. The source of supply was identified as Mexican-based, utilizing local couriers to facilitate the transactions. The incident occurred while Bradshaw was on parole for 2021 convictions related to eluding and possession of methamphetamine, as judged by the Iowa District Court for Dallas County.

Following his incarceration, Bradshaw will undergo a five-year supervised release period. It is important to note that there is no provision for parole in the federal penal system.

United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal from the Southern District of Iowa announced the details of the case. The investigation was conducted by the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, the Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, and the DEA.
