A Glasgow, Kentucky man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for crimes related to the sexual exploitation of children. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, along with Rana Saoud, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations Nashville, and Guy Howie, Chief of the Glasgow Police Department.

Christopher Michael Marsh, aged 38, received his sentence for one count of sexual exploitation of children and one count of child pornography distribution. Court documents reveal that Marsh recorded himself abusing an infant between September 2021 and January 1, 2022, and distributed this material on January 1, 2022. Following his prison term, he will be under supervised release for the rest of his life, acknowledging that the federal system does not offer parole.

The case was a joint investigation by Homeland Security Investigations in Bowling Green and the Glasgow Police Department. The prosecution team comprised Assistant U.S. Attorneys R. Nicholas Rabold from the Bowling Green Branch Office and Jo E. Lawless from the Louisville Office.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006. The initiative aims to tackle child sexual exploitation and abuse through federal, state, and local collaborations. It also seeks to identify and rescue victims.
