Lamor Runell Bolden, a 27-year-old from Buffalo, has entered a guilty plea before U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. Bolden admitted to the charge of conspiracy to commit mail theft, a conviction that could result in a maximum of five years imprisonment and a potential fine of $250,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Franz M. Wright detailed the events leading to the plea, explaining that on October 2, 2024, Bolden, along with Eric Michael Robinson and Antonio Jones, Jr., conspired to steal mail from receptacles in Cheektowaga, NY. The group possessed a key to access authorized mail receptacles. On the night of the incident, Bolden accompanied Robinson and Jones to a mail facility. Robinson acted as the driver, while Bolden and Jones carried out the theft. With the stolen key, they accessed and took mail from several mailboxes. After the theft, they were apprehended by law enforcement, and various mail items were found in their car. Bolden acknowledged using the stolen key at several locations within the Western District of New York.
As of now, charges against Antonio Jones, Jr. remain pending. Meanwhile, Eric Michael Robinson has been convicted and awaits sentencing.
The investigation leading to Bolden's plea was conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Ketty Larco-Ward of the Boston Division, together with the Cheektowaga Police Department under Chief Brian Coons.
Sentencing for Bolden is set for August 13, 2025, before Judge Sinatra.
