Ricardo Jordan, aged 22 and a resident of St. Tammany Parish, has been sentenced for violations of the Federal Controlled Substances Act. The sentencing, announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson, took place in New Orleans on April 10, 2025. United States District Judge Carl J. Barbier presided over the case.

The court documents reveal that Jordan sold significant quantities of fentanyl to an undercover Louisiana State Police Trooper on three occasions: August 3, August 10, and September 19, 2023. A subsequent search warrant led to the discovery of approximately 101 grams of fentanyl at Jordan's residence in Covington, Louisiana.

Jordan faced four counts related to drug trafficking and possession, to which he pled guilty. He received a sentence of 60 months in prison, followed by a four-year term of supervised release, along with a mandatory special assessment fee of $400.

The investigation involved the Homeland Security Investigations and the Louisiana State Police, with Assistant United States Attorney Briana Williams from the Narcotics Unit overseeing the prosecution.
