Attorney General Kris Mayes is set to host a town hall in Flagstaff on Tuesday, April 15, at 6:00 PM. The meeting aims to inform residents about federal lawsuits and discuss the impact of budget cuts and firings attributed to Donald Trump and Elon Musk. General Mayes will provide updates on her office's efforts and hear from Coconino County constituents.

"I have been heartened by the Arizonans who have come out to our town halls so far to share how Trump and DOGE's attacks -- and our lawsuits fighting back -- are impacting their everyday lives. Please join me in Flagstaff to share how you have been impacted and to hear more about my office's effort as we fight to enforce Arizona law and uphold the U.S. Constitution," she stated.

The event will occur at the Coconino Center for the Arts, located at 2300 N. Fort Valley Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Constituents are encouraged to RSVP to attend.

During the session, Mayes will answer questions about her lawsuits aimed at holding the federal government accountable for illegal actions by Trump and Musk. These lawsuits focus on issues such as defending birthright citizenship and the 14th Amendment, opposing a federal funding freeze, and countering privacy attacks by DOGE.

The Arizona Attorney General's office has initiated several legal actions, including protecting medical research, halting alleged unconstitutional actions by Musk, addressing federal employee firings, defending Arizona’s educational system, opposing health system attacks, securing election integrity, preventing research funding delays, and safeguarding cultural institutions like libraries and museums.

As the chief law enforcement official in Arizona, Mayes emphasizes her commitment to enforcing the law and protecting constitutional rights: "As Arizona's top law enforcement office, it is Attorney General Mayes' job to uphold the law and the U.S. constitution. She will continue to fight to reverse authoritarian overreach and protect Arizonans."

Constituents are encouraged to attend the town hall to express their concerns and learn more about the state’s legal battles.
