Attorney General Kris Mayes has revealed that Michael Woolbright has been found guilty of fraud and theft by the Pima County Superior Court. Woolbright faced charges including five counts of fraudulent schemes and artifices and one count of theft, having unlawfully taken more than $500,000 from the Tucson Delta Chi Alumni Board. This board manages a fraternity chapter house situated on the University of Arizona campus. The jury reached a conviction on March 18, 2025, and Woolbright is scheduled to be sentenced on April 28, 2025.

Attorney General Mayes commented on the case, saying, "I'm proud our Special Investigation Section helped uncover the significant fraud and theft Mr. Woolbright perpetrated. My office is committed to holding fraudsters accountable. I'm glad to be able to deliver a sense of accountability and justice to the community Mr. Woolbright misled."

The case details how Woolbright executed unauthorized transactions, both checks and wire transfers, from a bank account owned by the Tucson Delta Chi Alumni Board. He disguised these transactions as legitimate payments and restricted other board members' access to the financial records. The investigation and subsequent legal proceedings were led by the Attorney General's Office Special Investigation Section, with Assistant Attorney General Matthew Ashton handling the prosecution.

A copy of the original indictment and the defendant's booking photo can be accessed through the Attorney General’s office.
