Kyle Stack, a 39-year-old resident of Medina, New York, has been charged with possession of child sexual abuse material involving prepubescent minors. This charge comes with a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine reaching $250,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles M. Kruly explained that the investigation began after Adobe Systems Inc. reported in December 2019 that four images containing child sexual abuse material were uploaded to their servers under the screen/username "Kyle Stack." Investigators traced these uploads back to Stack.
A search warrant was executed at Stack's home on Bates Road by the New York State Police in July 2020. During this operation, six electronic devices were seized, and it was later determined that two devices contained child sexual abuse material. A forensic examination of Stack's cell phone unearthed 4,822 images, 32 videos of child sexual abuse material, 2,319 images and four videos of child erotica, along with 25 animated child sexual abuse materials. His laptop was found to contain 3,476 images, eight animated images, 16 images of child bestiality and bondage, 5,930 videos, three animated videos, and 43 child bestiality and bondage videos.
Stack appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and is being detained.
The investigation was conducted by the New York State Police under the leadership of Major Amie Feroleto, alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
It must be noted that charging someone with a crime is simply an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
