A Dunn County man received a sentence of over 12 years in prison on Wednesday for possession with intent to distribute significant quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine. Zachary Antoine Williams, known as "Fendi," pleaded guilty to the charges on December 13, 2024.
Court documents reveal that Williams was arrested on September 18, 2023, in Four Oaks, North Carolina. A search of his vehicle by law enforcement uncovered digital scales, fentanyl powder, and drug paraphernalia. Between September 2023 and January 2024, authorities conducted undercover operations, purchasing crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl from Williams five times. Furthermore, evidence indicated that Williams sold heroin worth $1,500 weekly since at least January 2022. A search of his residence in January 2024 uncovered two loaded pistols, $3,445 in cash, and additional scales.
Williams has a past felony conviction related to conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The announcement was made by Daniel P. Bubar, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, following the sentencing by U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan. The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Dunn Police Department, with Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Aria Q. Merle handling prosecution.
